The difference a pure heart can make.....

One morning,I saw a little girl not more than four years of age, tending to something wrapped in a cloth with utmost care. With a closer look,I speculated that it was a little puppy she was nursing. Soon another girl a little older than her came running towards her with some bandaids. They both fussed around with the first aid kit for a while before looking quite satisfied with their work.
Once I was certain they were finished, I approached them. I asked them what they were doing and why they were doing it.
They enlightened me about an unfortunate incident during which the little puppy had suffered a deep gash on its right hind limb. As to why the girls were helping it was still a mystery to me. They quenched my curiosity by saying,"We noticed that no one payed much heed to the wounded animal;so, we decided to take matters into our own hands. These days people are no too concerned about animals and they cannot communicate their sufferings and emotions like we can.... So we decided to help it ourselves."
I was astounded on hearing this. It was then that I finally understood the meaning of the famous saying by Barack Obama,' Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek'.
I realised that humans , even though animals cannot communicate quite as easily as we can, don't take any efforts to understand them and hence, not abiding by the symbiotic relationship between ecosystems and disobeying the very principle for Humanism. It further made me realise that we all live under the veneer of nobility; nobility here being humanism.
Let us learn something from these pure hearts of gold; something that we failed to learn ourselves since all we care about are the fantasies and horrific thriller scenarios our minds have created for us. We are already knee deep in the marsh of greed, selfishness and irrationality so that we don't see clearly as to what is right and what is wrong  through the thick fog  of bestiality before us. Let us strive to clear this fog and hope for a sunny day with happy, pleasant weather and an even better tomorrow for ourselves and our future generations!
